For His Highest Glory

For His Highest Glory - Welcome!

". . . the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth." Words of the LORD Jesus Christ, John 4:23-24 NKJV.

“And in that day you will ask Me nothing. Most assuredly, I say to you, whatever you ask the Father in My name He will give you. Until now you have asked nothing in My name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full." Words of the LORD Jesus Christ, John 16:23-24 NKJV.

"Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead,  I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus." Words of the Apostle Paul, Philippians 3:12-14 NKJV

"The first two processes for securing abundant praise are observation and
remembrance. The next is utterance; “They shall abundantly utter.” The
word contains the idea of boiling or bubbling up like a fountain. It signifies
a holy fluency about the mercy of God. . . but it matters not how fluent men and women are if they will be fluent on the topic now before us. Open your mouths; let the praise pour forth; let it come, rivers of it. Stream away! Gush away, all that you possibly can. “They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness.” Do not stop the joyful speakers, let them go on for ever. They do not exaggerate, they cannot. You say they are enthusiastic, but they are not half up to the pitch yet; bid them become more excited and speak yet more fervently. Go on, brother, go on; pile it up: say something greater, grander, and more fiery still! You cannot exceed the truth. You have come to a theme where your most fluent powers will fail in utterance. The text calls for a sacred fluency, and I would exhort you liberally to exercise it when you are
speaking of the goodness of God."  Charles Haddon Spurgeon

Dr. Judson's success in prayer is attributable to the fact that he gave much time to prayer. He says on this point: "Arrange your affairs, if possible, so that you can  leisurely devote two or three hours every day, not merely to devotional exercises, but to the very act of secret prayer and communion with God. Endeavor seven times a day to withdraw from business and company and lift up your soul to God in  private retirement. Begin the day by rising after midnight and devoting some time amid the silence and darkness of the night to this sacred work. Let the hours of nine, twelve, three, six and nine at night, witness the same. Be resolute in His cause. Make all practicable sacrifices to maintain it. Consider that your time is short and that business and company must not be allowed to rob you of your God."
Impossible, say we, fanatical directions! Dr. Judson impressed an Empire for Christ and laid the foundations of God's kingdom with imperishable granite in the heart of Burma. He was successful, one of the few men who  mightily impressed the world for Christ. Many men of greater gifts and genius and learning than he, have made no such impression; their religious work like footsteps in the sands, but he has engraven his work on the adamant. The secret of its profundity and endurance is found in the fact that he gave time to prayer. He kept the iron red-hot with prayer, and God's skill fashioned it with enduring power. No man can do a great and enduring work for God who is not a man of prayer, who does not give much time to praying.---From Preacher and Prayer, By E. M. Bounds.

Verses for Meditation

Matthew 21:9: Then the multitudes who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: "Hosanna to the Son of David! ‘ Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Hosanna in the highest!"

Mark 11:9-10: Then those who went before and those who followed cried out, saying: “Hosanna! ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the LORD!  Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!”

Luke 1:32: He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David.

Luke 2:14: "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"

Luke 19:37-38 Then, as He was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying: "‘Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the LORD!’ Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!"

1 Corinthians 10:31: Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

2 Corinthians 3:9: For if the ministry of condemnation had glory, the ministry of righteousness exceeds much more in glory.

2 Corinthians 3:18: But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18: Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Ephesians 1:12: That we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.

Hebrews 1:2-4: God has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds; who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Hebrews 12:3-4: For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood, in your striving against sin.

1 Peter 1:7-9: That the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls.

2 Peter 1:17: For He received from God the Father honor and glory when such a voice came to Him from the Excellent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased."

Revelation 19:1: After these things I heard a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, "Alleluia! Salvation and glory and honor and power belong to the Lord our God!"

Revelation 19:7: Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready."
